Welcome to the Friends of the 278th website! 

     Have you ever thought about what you would do if a soldier needed you? Every day, men and women of our military put themselves in harms way to serve and protect our freedoms.  Many sacrifice more than we can possibly imagine. Too many pay the ultimate sacrifice, leaving behind spouses and children. Just like you, soldiers have bills to pay, mouths to feed, and struggle to provide their families with the necessities of life – yet, all while focusing on missions at hand and standing by their oath, to serve our country. Friends of the 278th was developed in an effort to try to help these soldiers fallen on hard times, with difficult obstacles on their journeys, and suffering hardships, sometimes as a result of their service. However, our organization funded 100% from donations, needs your help to support these men and women. 

     While we stand proudly behind every service member serving our country, it is an impossible mission to offer financial support to each and everyone. With that said, we are honored to work with the soldiers of the state’s largest National Guard unit, the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment.  Our efforts reach across the state of Tennessee, supporting over 5,000 soldiers who are either enlisted with the 278th, or have been attached to the 278th at one time.  We need your help to give back to these men and women!
